Here’s how it works:
–Conejo Valley Days provides local school PTAs with “Read & Ride” forms that are distributed to students in grades kindergarten through 12th. We hang a CVD banner at each participating school.
–We ask students to read three books to earn free CVD carnival ride tickets.
–Students list the books they’ve read including a brief summary of each book on the Read & Ride form. Their parents and their teacher or school librarian sign the form. Homeschoolers are welcome to participate.
–Students bring the completed form to CVD and turn it in to receive tickets for any three rides at the CVD carnival.
–Participating PTAs receive a $100 donation from CVD.
–We’ll pick up the banners before school is out.
Everyone benefits from the CVD Read & Ride program—students read books, parents have the opportunity to let their kids enjoy free carnival rides (plus CVD entry for kids 5 to 9 is $5 and under 5, free) and PTAs receive a donation.
Read & Ride is CVD’s commitment to ensure the festival is inclusive to all families—regardless of their financial situation and it’s a way to support PTAs in area schools.
Bring the completed and signed Read & Ride form to the Kastl Amusements Information Booth inside CVD and receive a book of ride tickets good for any 3 rides at the carnival.
